Lunatic Gaming is a site made to bring independently-created games, resources, reviews, and guides to the gaming
community. We are also gamemakers ourselves, making games using C++, RPG Maker, and a select few other programs to add for download--for
free. Lunatic Gaming, AKA LG, also works to bring gaming community members together to chat at the forums and meet new people
online to talk about games, music, etc.
- Sonic47 (Webmaster)
Lunatic Gaming got its start in the early summer of 2003 as a team of designers working on a game called Terra: Legacy of Two
Worlds. The team was headed up by BlackPhantom who subsequently left the project due to family reasons. Sonic assumed control
of the team until the collapse of the Terra project a month or two later. In the fall of 2003, LunaticGaming got its own
domain, paid for by Sonic and was quickly attacked by hackers. On the rebound from the attack, LunaticGaming was again
attacked and the large amount of members acquired before the attacks was slow to return. The site advanced quickly, pulling
both amateur and pro game designers to it. At last the site is back on track and now we have released version 5. We hope that
LunaticGaming will continue to evolve and gain members.
-Jeff (Former Staff)
Again, after getting back on track, and gaining more members than ever, LG's host decided to abruptly drop the server and over
half of LG was lost. The www.lunaticgaming.com domain was also lost, along with over half of the staff. So after a one month
break, LG was recoded once again to the sixth complete layout ever coded for LG, and we have to start new yet again.
Hopefully, this time, there won't be anymore troubles.
-Sonic47
However, that wasn't the end of it. In the summer of 2006, LG was attacked and hacked several times. The database along with a
lot of progress on several site features was lost, and we were left with nothing. Many users, including the staff, thought LG
was officially dead. In August of 2006, a simple, generic forum was installed and surprisingly enough, a good number of
veteran members and staff returned once again for the resurrection of Lunatic Gaming.
